Established in 1992, Pepperwhite is a privately held company headquartered in Medford, New Jersey approximately 20 miles east of Philadelphia. The company develops, produces and markets products for the geographic information systems marketplace with offerings targeted at software developers and web developers.

Counted among the company's assets are a highly effective proprietary compaction technology which significantly reduces the processing time and data storage requirements of digital map data. This technology was employed to produce the world's smallest instance of the Census Bureau's Tiger/Line[tm] database.

This enabling technology will extend the potential market for GIS products to include palm top computers, lap top computers, in-vehicle navigation computers as well as a variety of highly specialized embedded systems.
